Make a Sock Puppet

Our very own theatre school director Kent Suss will show you how easy it is to transform a sock into a puppet that will delight your kids. What you will need:
– sock
– cardboard
– scissors
– felt-tip marker
– googly eyes (2 for each character, of course), buttons will work too
– hot glue gun
– cutting board
– foam sheet or felt
– feathers if you have them

Make a Box Puppet

What you will need:
– a food box (a Kraft Dinner box is perfect, but any size will work).
– a sock
– small piece of cardboard or cardstock
– coloured construction paper, cloth, craft foam, felt, or fun fur to cover your puppet
– an old long-sleeved shirt for the body
– googly eyes or buttons for eyes
– yarn or feathers for decoration
– hot glue gun
– scissors
Make a Robot Puppet
With MTYP Theatre School Director Kent Suss
Use wood and a screwdriver to build this table-top puppet.
What you will need:
– a food box (a Kraft Dinner box is perfect, but any size will work).
– a sock
– small piece of cardboard or cardstock
– coloured construction paper, cloth, craft foam, felt, or fun fur to cover your puppet
– an old long-sleeved shirt for the body
– googly eyes or buttons for eyes
– yarn or feathers for decoration

– saw

– hand-held screwdriver
– electric drill (a drill press if you have one)
– drill bits
– carpenter’s glue
– glue gun (optional)
