Ann Hodges • Director
Ann is a Winnipeg-based director who directs plays, musicals and operas across Canada. For MTYP, Ann recently directed Danny, King of the Basement and Jabber. Favourite directing credits include: Once (Citadel); Stories from the Red Dirt Road (Charlottetown Festival); Grey Gardens (Musical Stage Company – seven Dora nominations including Outstanding Direction and Outstanding Musical); Kiss Me Kate, Dogfight (Sheridan); The Birds and the Bees, Butcher, The December Man, Marion Bridge, The Rez Sisters, The Hound of the Baskervilles (Prairie Theatre Exchange); August Osage County, Other People’s Money, Top Girls, Jitters, Our Country’s Good (Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre); The Secret Mask (Great Canadian Theatre Company); The Birds and the Bees, The Lonely Diner (Blyth Festival, World Premieres); Dear Johnny Deere, Urinetown (Persephone – SATA award for Outstanding Production); Bashir Lazhar (Theatre Projects); Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, and The Little Mermaid (Rainbow Stage). Her adaptations of
operas for young audiences have been produced across Canada, including the libretto for Vancouver Opera’s acclaimed production of Naomi’s Road. Ann is a graduate of the National Theatre School.
