Love you back

2020-2021 Season

MTYP’s 2020/21 season features six exciting productions including the instant holiday classic The Velveteen Rabbit, two stories for our youngest audiences that celebrate the joy of reading, a tale about a boy who spells differently and two world premieres – both created locally. Spelling 2-5-5, which was going to close last season, will now be opening our new one and we are so thrilled to still have the opportunity to share this beautiful work with all of you.

“As a teenager, I spent a lot of time in airports, travelling back and forth from Peru to Canada,” says Pablo Felices-Luna. “I quickly learned about the sadness of parting and the pain of being away from those you love. At the same time, I learned the joy of being reunited, and I also learned that this joy cannot come about without first experiencing the sadness of the parting. Bringing you this 2020/21 season is a promise of the joy that is to come and the hope that we will soon be together with each other once more.”

Our Early Bird campaign will continue until June 30th. Renew before that date for the best prices. Packages start as low as $34.

In Frozen River, Grandmother Moon tells the story of two eleven year olds, born under the same blood moon, but in different parts of the world. Set in a forest, destined to become Manitoba, this new play follows their stories as they meet, and that of their descendants who meet in the present day. A broken promise from the past can be righted when there is finally an openness to learn from those who have protected and honoured the waterways for centuries.
